In Memory of Vinnie

Friday June 12th at 8:46 PM, my heart completely broke. After 14 beautiful, unforgettable years together, my boy Vinnie passed away. He drew his very last breath right in our arms— Megan Maddalena , and I were holding him tight, loving him until the very last second.

Vinnie was a warrior. He was so incredibly strong his whole life, and at the end, he fought his battle with cancer with everything he had, simply refusing to give up.

Every single day of those 14 years, I woke up feeling blessed just to have you by my side. You were an absolute gift, Vinnie. You didn’t just fill our house with joy—your pure, unconditional love made Megan and Me a complete family.
You truly lived the absolute best life a dog could ever live, buddy. You were right there by our side for every single adventure: skateboarding down the street, rolling right next to Megan while she roller-skated through parking lots, crushing it on our hikes, swimming at the beach, and tearing it up with your favorite toys. I am going to miss you riding shotgun in the truck more than words can say—sitting right between the two of us, “talking” to us in your special Vinnie language. You went everywhere with us.

You were my shadow and my best friend.

I feel so incredibly grateful that I got to be your dog dad from 2012 to 2026. We promised you we would be there with you until the very end, and we held true to that promise. Even though you’ve crossed over, I need you to know that you will never, ever be forgotten. Your memory is permanently stamped on my heart.
You will always be my boy, and the VERY BEST GOOD DOG EVER. Rest easy, Vinnie. I love you forever.
