Dr. Nicole Del Pino grew up in Oneida, New York, where her love of wildlife, the outdoors, and the pets she grew up with inspired her goal of becoming a veterinarian. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and first moved to San Diego in 2015 for a fellowship with the San Diego Zoo. After her time in San Diego, she knew she would someday return. She went on to attend veterinary school at Colorado State University.
Dr. Del Pino has a variety of experience in small animal general practice, urgent care, and shelter medicine. She is also a lead for the Street Dog Coalition in Downtown San Diego, providing veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness.
A deep appreciation for the human-animal bond is at the heart of Dr. Del Pino’s work. She chose to provide in-home euthanasia because she wants to support pets and their families during this important final stage of life, in the environment where pets feel most comfortable. Our pets honor us with their unconditional love throughout their lives, and her goal is to give that same care back by helping provide them with a peaceful and comfortable final journey.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Del Pino enjoys spending time outdoors, especially biking, surfing, and roller skating. She and her husband also love spending time in their garden at home and snuggling up with their two cats and pit bull, Mrs. Puff.
