How it works
What happens next.
You don’t need anything figured out before you call. Here is how Paws Into Grace cares for your pet, one step at a time.
Call or request an estimate
Tell us about your pet, and our team will walk you through your options and pricing. We can help even if we didn’t perform the euthanasia.
Bring them in, or we come to you
Drop off at our Escondido office by appointment, or we can come to your home and bring your pet into our care.
In our care the whole time
Your pet stays with Paws Into Grace through our own gentle aquamation process, with a careful tagging system and individual handling.
Coming home to you
With individual cremation, your pet’s ashes return in an urn with a clay paw print and fur clipping. We can also deliver them to you for a fee.
Aquamation is a gentle, water-based alternative to flame cremation, and it returns about 20% more remains to families.
Only at our Escondido office
Time for a final goodbye.
If you need more time, we offer private viewings in this room. Your pet is gently wrapped in a cozy blanket and adorned with flowers, and you have a dedicated hour together. A caring staff member stays close, and if you choose, you can personally place your pet into the aquamation machine as part of your farewell. Call us to schedule one.

Request an EstimateCan you help if another vet performed the euthanasia?
Yes. We can arrange cremation for your pet even if we didn’t perform the euthanasia.
What if my pet passed at home?
Call us at (619) 878-8753. We can come to your home and bring your pet into our care, and we can deliver the ashes back to you for a fee.
How will I know they’re my pet’s ashes?
Every pet is cared for through a thorough tagging system and individual handling process. It’s part of why individual cremation can take a little longer.

Can I still have keepsakes with communal cremation?
Yes. Clay paw prints, ink paw prints, and whisker pendants are all available. Just let our team know when you schedule.
Your options
Two gentle ways to say goodbye.
Both options use our own aquamation process, and your pet is cared for by our team the entire time.
Add-ons include extra clay paw prints from $45, ink paw or nose prints from $30, and fur clippings from $15. See memorial keepsakes. And when you’re ready, our grief support resources are here for you too.
Communal cremation
Scattered at sea, with care.
Our partner, Oceans of Love, scatters communal ashes at sea in a way full of dignity, love, and care, and safe for the environment. Because pets are cared for together, ashes aren’t returned, and communal cremation doesn’t include a viewing, ceremony, or memorial service.
We can still provide keepsakes, like clay paw prints, to honor your pet. Just let our team know when you schedule.
How scattering at sea works
Founded by Dr. Elizabeth Benson
Who’s caring for your pet
Started by a vet who knows this kind of loss.
Dr. Elizabeth Benson founded Paws Into Grace in 2007, after losing her mother as a young girl and spending years in busy emergency veterinary hospitals. She built a practice where every goodbye is handled with patience and dignity.
Today she leads a team that cares for each pet through cremation and aftercare with respect and compassion, following the strict code of ethics of the International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories.
