To say he has always been a good boy doesn’t give him enough credit. The sweetest, most gentle
(…yet least loyal) guy ever. If you ever met him, you know his reputation of finding a new family as soon as he locked eyes with you. Trying to get in other people’s vehicles at the dog park, not even looking back for the ones who have cared, loved, and fed him for over a decade . He. Loved. Everyone. (Though I do think my niece, Caitlin may have been his personal favorite) We adopted him into our family when he was about a year old. From that moment on we had everything “on the Rox”. Never entertained by toys, obsessed with soft blankets, and had all he ever needed if you just placed your hand on him. He was a baby brother to Leonidas, sitting on him like an Easter egg for years. He was a big brother to Phoebe, allowing her to sit on him for years. Not to mention the daily facials she offered. A steady companion for Rocky and I for 12 years. His talents included patience (with the every-so-often incredible “side eye”), siren howling, the bounciest flounciest type of run, and a smile that combined with his wagging nub could cure any type of frustration, stress, or sadness. I am eternally grateful for Paws into Grace. Dr. Johnson was beyond gracious and kind. He gave Rox peace in the comfort of his own home, in his own bed. Paws into Grace gave us the sacred moments we will never be able to describe, where we shared his journey. The world stood still and for a few moments…so did time. Sweet Rox, though your physical presence gradually became more and more quiet in your last couple years, the void you leave in our family is deafening. I have comfort that ”Chicken” and “Leonidas” have met you at the gates and are showing you around. The original trio is reunited at last. We will see you again, ol’ friend. In the words of Caitlin, “Safe Travels and I hope you have a good time in heaven” Love, Vanessa and Rocky Fredin
